Garden and landscape design

‘The time that Nicola and Lisa invested in exploring the brief and understanding our requirements, paid dividends. Their final design incorporated all the elements that we discussed, but in ways that we hadn't expected, and we were delighted with the end result’

Winter Shrubs and Flowers for Cutting

Shrubs for cutting and displaying indoors, Camellia, Forsythia, Common Hazel, Chinese Witch Hazel, Dogwood, Autumn Cherry

Clients often ask us to include plants into their designs that are suitable for cutting and enjoying indoors. January and February host many lovely winter flowering shrubs, perennials and bulbs to brighten up our gardens - I have picked a few star performers that can be displayed indoors as well as outdoors.

A winter walk at NT Polesden Lacey

I am lucky enough to have Polesden Lacey as my local National Trust property and there’s always plenty to enjoy on a bright winter’s day. The low sun casts long shadows, showing off the bare, leafless trees to stunning effect.
